In our weekly column on crowdfunded projects, we look at sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to find new and interesting projects. Thats because in the last couple of years, some of the most exciting developments in technology have come not from the established players, but from small teams with big dreams - like the Pebble smartwatch and the Oculus Rift. One project hoping to make it big is the AnyMote Home - this small IR device can connect to your smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth, where a companion app can be used as a smart remote. The AnyMote has profiles of over 800,000 devices, and the makers say they are still adding more. Theres also a learning function, where you can teach it to recognise other IR remotes that are not already supported. The app can also integrate with services that support Wi-Fi, such as XBMC, Sonos and Roku. Thieves Broke Into Microsoft Office And Stole iPads

Image
Yesterday, it was reported that thieves broke into the Microsofts campus in Mountain View on The 19th and 26th of December 2012. This incident was reported to the police on wednesday 3rd 2013. According to the info, 2 iPad 2, 2 iPad 3 and 1 iPad 4 (iPad with retina display as its called) was stolen from Microsofts office. The worth of this is estimated to be about $3,000. Although what comes to my mind is that why did it take so much time for a theft committed last year to just be reported 1 week later. Whatever it is, the thieves must really love Apple products over Microsoft products.
