Upcoming Samsung SM G530 gets pictured has specs outed

Image
Sure, the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge may be the talk of the town this week, but that doesnt mean Samsung isnt going to churn out other devices in the near future too. One contender is the handset known right now just by its model number - SM-G530. This has been certified for sale in China by TENAA, the relevant authority over there. As usual in such cases, a couple of photos showing the phone have surfaced. Thanks to the TENAA listing, but also to the fact that the G530 was benchmarked a while back, we also know what to expect in terms of specs. This one will be clearly in the value for money segment. The Samsung SM-G530 will sport a 5-inch 540x960 touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 2 MP front snapper. At the helm is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, which comes with a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU. The phone has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC. Its dimensions are 144.6...

Moto 360 gets priced in India

Image
The Moto 360 smartwatch looks like it’s getting closer and closer to a release in India. That’s because it’s been listed by Flipkart, the sole official seller of Motorola’s products in the subcontinent. Furthermore, the Moto 360 has already been priced, even if it doesn’t have a shipping date attached just yet. If you want the round smartwatch, you’ll need to part with INR 17,999 (that’s about $292 or €230 at the current exchange rates). The pricing makes the Moto 360 a tad more expensive in India than in the US (where it goes for $249). For now, only the variant of the smartwatch that comes with a gray leather strap has been listed on Flipkart, but it’s unclear if this will be the only SKU available when it launches or if more variations will be out too. Over in the US, the Moto 360 has been in very high demand, with the first batch selling out within only a few hours. It remains to be seen whether it will enjoy the same kind of success in other markets.

Android 5 0 Lollipop gets its own statue at Google HQ

Image
Now that Google has finally revealed that  Lollipop is the name of its Android L release , you probably saw this coming. The new OS version has received its very own statue outside of Google’s HQ in California. This is customary for all new Android iterations, and there are already a lot of sweet statues hanging out on Google’s lawn. As you can see, the Lollipop statue is basically just the green Android robot mascot holding a giant lollipop. This marks a subtle change from previous statues, which all turned the robot itself into the specific confectionery item that any new Android version was named after. The video above shows the unveiling of the new statue, as it happened earlier today. Android 5.0 Lollipop will be preinstalled on the new Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, and it will be out as a software update for the older Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (both generations), and Nexus 10 at some point in the near future. Obviously the new bits will then start to slowly make their w...
