Sony at IFA 2014, along with three smartphones - the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compactand Xperia E3 - announced a new tablet dubbed Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The pricing of the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact have not been mentioned as of now, though the company says it will launch globally in both LTE and Wi-Fi variants in Autumn 2014. However, users can register the tablet from the companys main website. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, and sports an 8-inch WUXGA (1920x1200 pixels) TRILUMINOS display powered by X-Reality for mobile picture engine. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.5GHz with 3GB of RAM powers the tablet. Amazon has announced a special Kids Edition of the Kindle Fire HD. This is essentially the newly announced Kindle Fire HD in 6-inch and 7-inch sizes but with a special rubber case around it to prevent it from being damaged. If, however, your kid does somehow managed to break it, the Kids Edition comes with a two-year, no questions asked replacement guarantee.  The Kids Edition also includes a year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, a service meant for kids with age appropriate educational apps, games, books, and movies. The FreeTime mode also blocks access to stores so kids don’t end up purchasing anything. The Kindle Fire HD Kids Edition is priced at $149 for the 6-inch model and $189 for the 7-inch model, $50 more than the standard Kindle Fire HD.
