Inside Apples A7 Chip M7 Motion Coprocessor and More from the iPhone 5s

Image
At its media event introducing the new iPhones earlier this month, Apple highlighted several chip innovations included on the iPhone 5s including a new A7 main chip with one billion transistors and a smaller M7 "motion coprocessor" designed to efficiently measure accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass data and thus allow for enhanced fitness tracking , navigation, and more. Chipworks and iFixit have now posted a teardown revealing whats inside these chips, as well as several other components of the iPhone 5s, offering an interesting first glimpse at these components at the heart of the device. In looking at the A7, Chipworks noted that it is indeed manufactured by Samsung using its 28-nm process node. Apple has been seeking to shift its A-series chip production from Samsung to TSMC, but TSMCs chip production will reportedly not start until early 2014. Air Umbrella uses air flow to shelter you from the rain

Image
A team of Chinese designers has taken to Kickstarter to fund a nifty little idea called Air Umbrella. It’s an umbrella that’s powered by a “force field” of air. It uses this to replace the fabric in a normal umbrella, with the air flow deflecting the rain drops from you. The inventors have already received more pledges than they asked for – right now around $17,000 have been pledged by people eager to replace their umbrellas with something more high-tech, and the goal was just $10,000. There are 9 days to go in the Kickstarter campaign, but since the goal has been surpassed this thing should become reality. There will be three models of the Air Umbrella. The smallest product, apparently aimed at women, will be 30cm long, will weigh 500g, and will have 15-minute battery life. There will also be a variant measuring 50cm, weighing 800g, and coming with 30-minute battery life. Both of these have fixed sizes. The third variation, however, will be extendable, from a minimum length of 50cm to...

Asustek to boost smartphone manufacturing capacity from May

Image
Taiwans Asustek plans to boost its smartphone manufacturing capacity next month to satisfy solid demand for its low-cost ZenFone range, company CEO Jerry Shen said Thursday. The monthly worldwide shipments of Asusteks smartphones are expected to increase from 200,000-300,000 units in April to 400,000-500,000 units in May, Shen told a press briefing to address a recent ZenFone pricing controversy that saw the phones priced lower in China than in Taiwan. The manufacturing capacity is estimated to hit a maximum of over 500,000 units in June, with distributors and retailers having already placed huge amounts of orders for the popular ZenFone models, he said. That means the monthly production scale for May and June will be comparable with the full-year shipments of 400,000 to 500,000 units of Asusteks 2013 flagship PadFone models, Shen said. The company forecast April 8 that it would sell 5 million smartphones this year to give its revenue a year-on-year boost. The company sold 1.5 million ...

So can be charged, among other wearables but other smartphones .   We think the power sharing cable from Samsung is the perfect solution for the short battery life of smart watches. Spend, for example your Galaxy Gear energy enters the smart watch again easily along one day. Because the battery of the Galaxy smartphones pieces is greater than that of the wearables, you can watch your smart recharging multiple times. How to Unhide Hidden Files From Hard drives and Flash Drives

Image
I t can be very devastating when one of core documents or file saved on a disk or flash drive just suddenly disappear when you need to view it the most. You knew you put it there and you didnt delete it, yet you can find it. Sometimes when you use the storage device on other computer, the files become accessible. Well, this usually happens whenever a virus attacks the files and hide them from you.  Most times, the virus is operating on another computer and when you inserted your storage device, it corrupts or hides the files. For computers that dont have the option to show hidden files activated, you may not see these hidden files. Hence, these files become visible to computers that have "show hidden files" activated. Although some virus would not even allow you to unhide the files the conventional way. This is where a little command becomes needed. This post will discuss but the conventional way and the other methods that are more reliable. This post is to show you how to un...

While there is a rumor in the air that BlackBerry would be releasing BBM for Android and iPhone for September 21st, some situations may delay the release of BBM for iPhone by one or two weeks after it gets released to Android device users. BlackBerry submitted BBM for iPhone to Apple two weeks ago but its still awaiting App Store approval according to Alex Kinsella, Senior Strategic Account Manager at BlackBerry seen from his tweet below. Usually, the average approval time for  most apps submitted to App Store is about 4 days according to Shiny Development tracker.
