iPhone 6 Renderings Based on Case leaks and Recent Rumors

Image
Earlier this month French Apple website Nowhereelse.fr shown off a set renderings show sapphire glass-backed iPhone Air, that based on alleged schematics for a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone 6. Martin Hajeks  iPhone Air concept. The same designer Martin Hajek created again a new set renders for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, based on recent case leaks, that show a thin, edge-to-edge design, and accompanying cases in a variety of colors. The renderings show thin iPhone with rounded corners, with the power button located along the upper right side of the device and rectangular volume controls similar to that of the fifth-generation iPod touch. The back of the device is shown to be uni-colored, as compared to the iPhone 5s’ two-toned design. The case rendered to compliment the phone also contains cutouts for each new design change, along with holes for the camera and flash. Rendering above appear the 4-inch, and 5.5 inch iPhones, with same design properties as the 4.7-inch version. Apple is expec

National Geographic Photographer Praises iPhone 5s Camera

Image
National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson took his iPhone 5s to Scotland and, after taking 4,000 photographs, called the camera on the device "very capable" with pictures that "didn’t look like I was having to settle for second best because it was a mobile phone". Apples Phil Schiller tweeted a link to the article this evening, commenting "iPhoneography". With intense use (I’ve made about 4,000 pictures in the last four days) I’ve discovered that the iPhone 5S is a very capable camera. The color and exposures are amazingly good, the HDR exposure feature does a stunningly good job in touch situations, the panorama feature is nothing short of amazing—seeing a panorama sweeping across the screen in real time is just intoxicating. Best of all it shoots square pictures natively, a real plus for me since I wanted to shoot for Instagram posting. Once I figured out what the camera could do well I began to forget all the things it couldn’t do at all. While the

iOS 7 adds support for zipped attachments in Mail Messages with Quick Look

Despite all you can do with an iOS device, certain features that are standard on a Mac or PC have been elusive on Apple’s smartphones and tablets. With iOS 7, however, it looks like we can cross one of those omissions off the list: You can now unzip and view compressed files from within Mail. Originally, iOS flat-out ignored zip files—if you received one in an email or viewed it on the web, it showed up as an unrecognized file type, and that was that. But in iOS 4, Apple added the “Open In” function, which let you use third-party apps to open files that the OS couldn’t handle. This let programs like GoodReader handle file unzipping and dealing with other unrecognized document types, but it wasn’t perfect—try explaining to your tech unsavvy friend or family member that they need to download a specific app to open a file. iOS 7 elegantly addresses this problem: Now, when you receive a compressed file in Mail, tapping on it will unzip the file and present it as a series of documents that

Broadcom Announces New 5G 802 11ac 2x2 MIMO Chip Will Likely Power Future iPhone

Image
Communications chip maker Broadcom announced a first of its kind 5G WiFi Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system-on-a-chip that will bring faster 802.11ac connectivity with 2x2 MIMO to mobile devices. The Broadcom BCM4354 chip  is the first to implement 2×2 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) on a smartphone, bringing up to twice the Wi-Fi performance with 25 percent more power efficiency than the current 1x1 MIMO chips. Consumers expect a fast, always-on smartphone experience. Performance however can be degraded by many factors including how a phone is held or positioned. In the past, MIMO systems have solved these problems on tablets and larger devices by using multiple antennas. With Broadcom’s advanced antenna and PHY design, the BCM4354 can now deliver the benefits of 5G WiFi 2×2 MIMO to smaller platform designs like smartphones while reducing implementation complexity for designers. This achievement enables the industry’s first practical implementation of 2×2 MIMO on a sm

Analyst Says iPhone 6 Design Locked Down with 4 8 Inch Display and 802 11ac Wi Fi

iPhone 6 concept. latest predictions has been claimed that a larger iPhone will come with 4.7. But New analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company (via AppleInsider ) today has issued a note to investors claiming that much of the design for the iPhone 6 has been finalized, He said that Apple selceted 4.8-inch display for the iPhone 6. Arcuri also predicts that the next-generation iPhone will come with 802.11ac, a faster Wi-Fi standard that first began appearing in Apple products in 2013. In addition to these changes, Arcuri went on to suggest that Apple will offer "key software innovations" in 2014 with iBeacon, Touch ID, and Passbook used as a mobile payment solution. He views the iPhone 5s as basically a set-up for this years new products. Its 64-bit A7 processor and Touch ID fingerprint sensor will allow Apple to introduce new services. Aside from hardware tweaks and design changes, Arcuri also said that Apple is planning "key software innovations" with the next
